A scene from a music video I worked on at Mutiny FX. I Created the 3D scene and did the lighting, camera tracking and change, as well as the composite. I was given pre-keyed and rotoscoped footage plates.
A big challenge was keeping the singer and mountain visible in the reflection. I had to stabilize the jib move rom the footage and drastically change the camera position in 3D so it was low enough to keep the reflections.
OpenGL view of the 3D scene. The distant mountains started as a full 3D mountain range, but they were pre-rendered and placed as a billboard to speed up rendering and decrease project size.
The camera move was stabilized in 3D and then changed to allow for better framing and a more drastic jib move.
I created a custom matte in 3D so I could isolate the color correction for the elements in the pond reflection.
This is what the 3D render looked like straight from Blender.
Final color correction, pushing the vibrancy and added purple to the mountain shadows.
